New Visa Application Centre for Denmark in Bangkok

All applications for visa and for work- and residence permits to Denmark previously submitted to the Royal Danish Embassy must as of 15 February be submitted to a new Visa Application Centre that will open in the Amarin Tower. The new Visa Application Centre is operated by VFS Global Private Ltd. as an outsource partner.
“We are convinced that in the long run the outsourcing will accommodate both the business and private travellers and contribute to a continuously improved satisfaction of our visa and residence/work permit customers,” writes Ambassador Michael Sternberg and Consul Lise Schouboe in a joint brefing about the new centre.
“It is the expectation that this initiative will greatly improve the service rendered to Thai nationals seeking short term business, tourist or family visas to the Schengen area and also to Thai nationals wishing to go to Denmark for work or family reunification,” the Danish Embassy writes. With the new application centre up and running, the length of the application process is expected to be reduced. A number of extra services will also be offered, for instance:
– No appointment needed for submission & collection
– Return of passport to specified address or collection at the Centre
– Possibility to check application status on Internet
– SMS service etc.
– The VFS will collect the (unchanged) visa fee for the Embassy together with a small additional service fee to the VFS.
