Palsgaard opens new Application Centre in Singapore

The Danish food ingredients company Palsgaard on Monday 8 December opened its new state-of-the-art Application Centre at their regional Asia headquarters in Singapore, equipped with an impressive range of food production machinery.
     The idea with the application centre is to use the equipment to test Palsgaard’s many industrial food ingredients like emulsifiers and stabilizers together with the clients in the actual process to find out, which of the ingredients is best suited for the products of the client.
     “The focus is on technical customer service, demonstrations and presentations, application and R&D work as well as training for the staff of our customers,” says Jørgen Lundsgaard.
     Jørgen Lundsgaard moved to Singapore only four years ago together with his wife Malene and the couple’s then 2 year old daughter to pioneer Palsgaard’s presence in this region. The new centre documents not only the Lundsgaard family’s success in this task but also their company’s commitment to the Asia-Pacific region.
     Palsgaard’s revenues has more than doubled in the Asia Pacific region since the regional office was established in Singapore in 1999. Double-digit growth rates are forecasted for the next five years.
     Looking towards the future, Palsgaard selected the Nordic European Centre in the International Business Park in Jurong as the preferred location to establish their regional headquarter and the Application Centre. The opening of the 450 m2 premises was presided over by the Danish ambassador to Singapore, Jørgen Ørstrøm Møller together with several local and Danish dignitaries.
     The Application Centre houses fully equipped dairy, ice cream and bakery laboratories as well as a range of analytical and measuring equipments and is staffed by highly qualified and experienced food technologists and engineers.
     At the disposal of Palsgaard’s clients and partners is also a UHT pilot plant, homogenizers and mixers, autoclave, viscometers, PH-meters, ice cream freezer, soft serve machine, 3-deck oven and proofing cabinet, Hobart mixers, texture analyzer and many more.
     “The processing and analytical equipment makes it possible for our staff to custom make trials that fit the actual working conditions of each individual client’s plant,” Jørgen Lundsgaard explains.
     “The development of our food ingredients and solutions is largely driven by requests from our partners and customers and designed with their collaboration.”
     While the Palsgaard future in Asia looks bright, so does the future of the regional director Jørgen Lundsgaard, his wife Malene and their today six year old daughter, as Malene Lundsgaard is expecting twins in the near future.
