Prettying up Your Home the Danish Way

Crystal Maison, the two-storey, warehouse that’s part of the Crystal Design Centre – is finding plenty of customers among the residents of the luxurious housing developments and condominiums on Ekamai-Ramintra Road. They’re drawn by the imported kitchenware, the wine accessories and glassware from more than 50 world-class brands, as well as the quality decor items and stationery by local designers.

The store is the brainchild of entrepreneur Supanavit Eiamsakulrat, who aims to build the best home department store in Bangkok. She wants to offer the cream of household products from around the world, especially the innovative collection of Scandinavian-style kitchenware that she discovered while on holiday in Denmark.

On her regular trips to Italy, France and Denmark to select the  latest products, Supanavit keeps an eye on what the Europeans are using in their homes. That way her mall always stocks the best in all categories. The main attractions right now are an eye-catching selection of painted ceramic mugs and aluminium tableware by Miam.Mian from England and high-quality kitchenware by Guzzini from France.

The white shelves on the first floor are stocked with glassware by Chef & Sommelier and silver tableware from NV Aranyik, Goodliving, Nikko, Alessi, Royal Albert, Paradox, Bodum, Trebimbi and Evasolo. Alongside, there’s creative stationery and accessories for the office by local labels Taxidermy and Folio, plus notebooks, photo albums, wallets, mobile cases, card holders, diaries and more.

Upstairs, you’ll discover a wide range of kitchenware and tableware from PDD Germany, Platex Switzerland, plus Patra Porcelain and Guzzini. Particularly eye-catching are the  colourful cooking utensils by Joseph Joseph, a renowned brand from England. There’s functional chopping boards that can be turned into trivets, colanders and strainers, bread bins, salad bowls and measuring jugs. Also great fun are the innovative plate mats and carpets by Chilewich from America.

Opposite, discover  the latest garden tools from Dogo, fashion accessories made from recycled materials by Osisu, refined silk houseware from Nanthakwang and Srinlim, leather products by Creative Brain and Design and vintage-style decor items by Goody Grams.

And if you’re having problems keeping time, check out the wall clocks by Lexon, Guzzini and Karlson, Lexon’s radios and stylish digital watches by Takumi from Denmark, I’m Clock from Hong Kong and Duo Design.
