Swede Introduce Floorball to Pattaya

Floorball, a fast-paced game much like indoor hockey, is a relatively new sport in Thailand. The headquarters of the Thai Floorball Federation, established in 2007, is located right here in Pattaya, and on Sunday an exhibition game took place at the Chaimongkol school on South Pattaya Rd.

Mr. Janne Johansson, one of the founders of Floorball in Sweden, joined in the game.

Mr. Johansson is a reporter working for CNN and will be stationed at the Bangkok Post for a year, and during this time he will be helping to develop the Thai Floorball Federation and expand the sport in this country.

Floorball will have an exhibition tournament at the next Olympic Games in London, and is set to become an Olympic sport at games to follow, so establishing a Thai National Floorball Team is a priority. If anyone is interesting in learning how to play this exciting sport, they can join the weekly Floorball match at Pattaya Sports Complex in Soi 5 off Soi Potisan in Naklua.
