Win A Danish City Bike

On 5th September, the Denmark Pavilion sets of a second wave of the campaign ‘Back on Bike’.

The campaign was launched by the Danish Embassy on 20 August with a
biking tour through Beijing where the city’s Vice Mayor Wang Yongqing
and Chinese actress Huang Yi participated.

The campaign includes a nationwide competition, where Chinese citizens
have the possibility of winning one of the Danish city bikes used at the
Denmark Pavilion during EXPO 2010. The competition will run until
September 20th 2010.

‘Back to Bike’ aims at raising awareness for bicycling and the many benefits that come along with a strong bicycling culture and bike-friendly urban planning.

“Bicycling is a tradition, which China and Denmark share. As we this year celebrate the 60 years of diplomatic relations with China, I find it very suitable to engage in something we have in common and discuss, how we keep bicycling alive in a modern and hectic world”, said Mr. Søren Jacobsen, Acting Ambassador of the Danish Embassy at the launch in Beijing.

“Through this campaign of Back on Bike, we can put the idea of ‘green and environmental protection’ into practice and set it as a good example for all our people. Let’s ride bicycles more and drive cars less,” said Vice Mayor Wang Yongqing.
