Dane Caught up in House Break-in

A Danish ex-pat and his Thai Wife returned to Pattaya from a trip to Surin Province in the North-East of Thailand, to find their house had been broken into.

Mr. Steffen Petersen aged 64 and his wife returned from a week-long trip to their house at the Egmongkol Village in Soi Chaiyapreuk in Jomtien and realized a metal gate behind the front door to the house had been removed.

The master bedroom had been ransacked and a safe had been broken-into. Mr. Petersen revealed that 130,000 Baht’s worth of Danish Krona and some gold had been taken.

A computer and mobile phone had also been taken from the house.

Police were able to take fingerprint impressions from around the house which are now being analyzed by forensic officers.

Mr. Petersen was clearly frustrated as this was the second time his house had been broken into.

There were no witnesses to the crime and Police suggest that capture of those involved in the theft is unlikely.
