Norwegian Minister Snubbed Again by China

Norway says China has canceled a second meeting with a visiting Norwegian minister, leading her to scrap the Beijing leg of her trip to China.

China has warned Norway that the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo would harm relations between the two countries.

On Monday, it abruptly canceled a meeting that had been scheduled for Wednesday between Norwegian Fisheries Minister Lisbeth Berg-Hansen and her Chinese counterpart.

Norwegian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Raghnild Imerslund says Chinese officials on Tuesday called off another meeting between Berg-Hansen and a vice minister from China’s Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
