Denmark’s new Ambassador to Vietnam and Laos, Mr. John Nielsen, presented his Letter of Credentials to the President of Lao PDR H.E. Mr. Choummaly Sayasone on 13 October in Vientiane. They reaffirmed the good bilateral relations and importance of regional cooperation on the Mekong River, while they looked forward to strengthening the commercial ties between Laos and Denmark in the coming years.
Ambassador John Nielsen was received in the presidential palace Ho Kham in Vientiane on 13 October 2010. The President of Lao PDR, H.E. Mr. Choummaly Sayasone welcomed the new Danish Ambassador and looked forward to continue the good relations between Laos and Denmark.
The President expressed his appreciation for Denmark’s contribution to environment and to the Mekong River Commission. They discussed the importance of regional cooperation in order to ensure a more sustainable development of the river region. The President and Ambassador discussed the room for improving commercial relations and the possibility of a promotion tour to Lao for Danish companies in 2011.
