The Embassy has cooperated with the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) of Thailand to bring forward the demonstration of “TD-LTE is Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology” by the renowned Swedish Telecommunications company Ericsson.
The technology is for use in Time Division Duplex (TDD) spectrum and is the latest standard in the mobile network technology and globally recognized as 4G technology.
The demonstration, including a practical test in a van on the NTC premises, was carried out for 2 days and were attended by 200 participants from the Ministry of Information, Communications & Technology, Ministry of Public Health, telecom operators and content providers.
This technology will probably be a key driver in the future development of Thai telecommunications and hopefully Ericsson will continue to be a reliable partner to the telecom industry in Thailand.
