Prince Joachim and Princess Marie Visit China

Food, beverages, fashion and life improving design – Danish royal couple, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Joachim and Princess Marie promoted Danish products and inventions when visiting Beijing and Hong Kong.


High quality products and unique Danish design were the focal point when H.R.H Prince Joachim and H.R.H Princess Marie of Denmark visited China last week.


On Sunday 28th of November, the royal couple attended a fashion show held at the Danish Ambassador’s private residence displaying top designs by three of the finest Danish design houses: Kopenhagen Fur, Bestseller and Georg Jensen. 

On November 25 in Hong Kong, TRH Prince Joachim and Princess Marie took part in the opening ceremony of the exhibition ‘INDEX: Design to Improve Life’. INDEX: works globally to promote and apply design, which has the capacity to improve the lives of people worldwide.


Large scale glass bubbles have toured the world displaying the best designs and inventions INDEX: has come across in its 8 years of existence. The exhibition is on display at ‘Avenue of the Stars’ at the Hong Kong harbour promenade up to and including December 3.


Also with participation by the royal couple, the food exhibition ‘Products of Denmark – Delicatessen and Specialty Beer’ was held on Wednesday 24 November at The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club in Hong Kong. The exhibition displayed how quality food and beverage products have been developed in Denmark based on traditional skills and put into a context of storytelling and product development.
