A Norwegian man, Gunnar Nygard, 75, collapsed while out walking close to the edge of the sea. The man was seen lying on the sand, opposite the South Sea Karon Resort, soon after noon. His body is now in Patong Hospital, writes PhuketWan.
The man was alone and dressed only in swim trunks.
Phuket’s Karon beach has been the scene of several recent drownings however today’s conditions were better than the past few days. Red no-swim flags were flying again today.
An autopsy should reveal the cause of death, and disclose whether the man had been swimming and taken water into his lungs, writes PhuketWan.
