Hanoi Business Women Start Doing E-commerce

The aim of the project is to support small and medium women entrepreneurs in developing cooperation, promoting trade and raising business through application on ICT. Awareness and knowledge on ICT will help businesses to integrate into the world. Internet will also provide equal business opportunities even for the smallest businesses.


Embassy of Finland is supporting business via ICT in supporting e-commerce initiative by the Hanoi Women Association of Small and Medium size Enterprises (HAWASME). With support from Innovation Partnership Programme HAWASME will have available software as a service (internet portal) which contains functions as e-commerce to help businesswomen searching for partners, e-promotion and buy and sell online.

This system is designed with high ability for uploading, quick searching, high security and transparency for enterprise and multi-languages for exchanging with foreign partners. Ambassador of Finland Mr. Pekka Hyvönen reminded in his speech that the free

It provides great opportunities for small and medium enterprises, which have something to sell. On top of that internet sale is a cost-effective way to do business. Ambassador also pointed out that supporting small and medium women entrepreneurs in developing cooperation, promoting trade and raising business through application on ICT promotes gender equality and it is therefore perfectly in line with Finland´s development policy.


Enterprises signing witnessed by Ambassador mr. Pekka Hyvönen and chief technical advisor mr. Hannu Kokko Companies wanted to join doing e-commerce right from the start. Before the signature of the contract there were already more than 30 enterprises registered for using electrical commerce
