Danish pop trio to perform for Thai Royal Family

Danish pop band Michael Learns to Rock has been invited to give a private performance for the Thai Royal Family on July 3, Laguna Phuket Resort said in a release to promote the band’s separate concert for charity.
     The night before performing for the Royal Family, the Danish trio will perform in a one-off public concert for charity at the island resort, starting 8:30 pm. They have agreed to donate the proceeds from this charity concert to worthy causes supporting leukaemia patients in Thailand, as well as to AIDS victims in Phuket.
     Tickets to the charity concert are priced at Bt500, Bt1,000, Bt2,000 and Bt4,000. Reservation can be made from June 7 at Laguna’s Canal Village Shopping Centre, Tel: 0 7632 4453 – 7 or Fax: 0 7632 4066.
     With global record sales exceeding 8 million copies since their debut album in 1991, the band from Denmark – which comprises of singer and keyboard player Jascha Richter, drummer Kåre Wanscher and guitarist Mikkel Lentz – has wooed many fans with their repertoire of soft pop music. Their latest album, the sixth, was launched in February this year.
