Danish Documentary Wins Award in Beijing

Danish documentary Dreams in Copenhagen yesterday won the award for best documentary at the Beijing International Film Festival. 
 
Thursday evening the Danish documentary Dreams in Copenhagen by director Max Kestner won the award for best documentary at the Beijing International Film Festival.


Dreams in Copenhagen was in a field of 20 Chinese and international non-fiction films.


The 72-minute documentary from 2009 is a portrait of Denmark’s capital as it portrays the people living in Copenhagen and their physical surroundings.


Max Kestner a graduate in documentary from the National Film School of Denmark has previously directed three films and has won a Danish Robert award for Best Short Film.


The first Beijing International Film Festival is held from April 23rd to 28th 2011. During the film festival 100 Chinese and 60 international films are screened in 20 cinemas in Beijing. Beijing International Film Festival is sponsored by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and the Beijing Municipal Government.


The Danish family drama Zoomers was also screened at the Beijing International Film Festival.
