Police have filed murder charges against one of the men initially arrested after 35-year-old Einar Opsahl was gunned down execution-style on a street near Bislett Stadium in Oslo last month.
The suspect is a 29-year-old man who came to Norway as a child from Laos in 1990 and has been convicted of at least nine crimes since 2001. His convictions have involved narcotics possession, robbery, threats with a deadly weapon, receiving stolen property and extortion, writes Views and News from Norway af Views and News.
He already was in custody for possession of 10 kilos of hash and a revolver when police charged him on Wednesday with the murder of Opsahl on June 18. The murder has been characterized as a random attack, possibly the result of a misunderstanding after Opsahl left a bar near Bislett with friends late that Saturday night and tried to find a taxi.
Police have not been able to establish a motive for the killing, but claim they have arrested the right person on the basis of photos, video, witness statements and an extensive investigation.
