Jebsen & Jessen’s JV launches manufacturing facility in Vietnam

MHE-Demag, a Danish-German provider of lifting and handling solutions, launched its Vietnam manufacturing facility at the Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park in May 2004, with an aim to offer state-of-the-art technology to the Vietnamese industry.
MHE-Demag is a 50:50 joint venture between the Jebsen & Jessen Group of Companies and Demag Cranes & Components of Germany. Its core business activities include the design, manufacture, service and maintenance of cranes, industrial products, and warehouse trucks.
MHE-Demag has a strong presence in countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. In Vietnam, it has been operating through a representative office since 1996.
But with the surging growth of the country’s economy and industries, a decision was made to invest in establishing a full-fledged production facility in the country.
“Vietnam represents an exciting opportunity. It is today one of the fastest growing economies in Asean,” Mr. Manoj Kumar Beri, Group Managing Director for the Jebsen & Jessen Group, said at the inauguration ceremony in Binh Duong province.
“A large domestic market, and a hardworking and literate workforce combined with the progressive economic reforms initiated by the government make up the ingredients of a vibrant emerging economy,” he continued, adding that MHE-Demag is looking forward to participating in Vietnam’s industrial development.
MHE-Demag has for more than three decades provided innovative lifting solutions to a wide range of industries including manufacturing, warehousing, building maintenance and aircraft maintenance, with an installed base of some 15,000 cranes in Southeast Asia.
