Swedish Embassies Work Hard to Restore Offices

As the Swedish Government is taking immediate action to stop the closure of Sweden’s representation in Malaysia and Vietnam, the embassies seem to be facing new challenges.

Counsellor at the Embassy of Sweden in Hanoi Mr. Henrik Gorbow tells ScandAsia “I can not tell much more than already published in our press release, but I can tell you, that this is indeed a new situation for all of us.”

“I got the message by a telephone call from Sweden late Monday evening and now we are focusing on keeping our highly skilled staff at the Embassy,” he adds.

According to Mr. Henrik Gorbow, the staff at the Embassy have already been spoken for by other employers ever since the closure of the embassy was announced.

There has been no further news at the Embassy of Sweden in Jakarta. The Ambassador is in Sweden and is expected to be back in Jakarta on Sunday, August 7. The Embassy tells ScandAsia that hopefully more details can be provided early next week.
