Norway invests in the Philippines

At the moment, The Norwegian Government Pension Fund Global owns equity from 25 Philippine companies, valued at USD 221 million. Among the companies that the Norwegian state has chosen to invest in are Ayala, Bank of the Philippine Islands, Jollibee Foods and Petron.

The Norwegian Pension Fund was set up in 1990 as a fiscal policy tool to support long-term management of Norway’s petroleum revenue. Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM) manages the fund on behalf of the Ministry of Finance, which owns the fund on behalf of the Norwegian people.
