Sweden represented at the 2nd ASEM Transport Ministers’ Meeting

As a part in the ongoing promotion of the Sustainable Transport Solutions project State Secretary Carl von der Esch visited the 2nd Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Transport Ministers’ Meeting.


The ASEM Transport Ministers’ Meeting is a high level dialogue between representatives of governments and industry from Asia and Europe under the ASEM framework. The meeting, held for the second time, took place in Chengdu and focused on green transports, transport safety and security, and efficient transports. 


State Secretary Carl von der Esch took part in panel discussions on transport safety and security and green transports as well as bi-lateral meetings with Mr. Gao Hongfei, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Transport and Mr. Jiang Jufeng, Governor of Sichuan. Volvo Cars, Ericsson and Scania represented Swedish industry. A non-binding declaration was adopted.
