Nordic Chambers Visit IKEA Bangna

On 21 December 2011, for the first time in three years, the Nordic Chambers arranged a field trip for their members and friends to tour the new IKEA Bangna.

Several guests gathered at BTS Udomsuk at 8:20 where IKEA’s shuttle buses are scheduled to arrive for pick-up. The rest of the registered guests joined the group at the store’s entrance. The whole group of around 40 excited guests began the tour at 9:00.

Lars Svensson, the Project Marketing Manager of IKEA Bangna, warmly welcomed everyone to the store. He gave them an introduction to the store’s concept, taught them how to shop at IKEA, and lead them through the showroom.

As expected, it was not an easy task keeping a large group of excited and eager guests at attention when surrounded by the IKEA furniture design distracting them.

Afterward, Lars brought the group to IKEA’s Restaurant & Café, where breakfast was ready to be served. After making sure that everyone was full, he began his presentation about IKEA, focusing on that particular branch.

The guests were further introduced to IKEA’s vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people and how they strive to implement the Global to local working concept while entering the market in Thailand.

The presentation was informative and at the end, he opened the floor for an active Q&A session. Executive Director of TSCC, Peter Björk, then gave a thank you speech after which Lars Svensson revealed a nice surprise for all guests by giving them each an IKEA gift package.

Then everyone were granted the opportunity they had been waiting for, to shop til’ they dropped in the store which ensured a big smile as they left.
