The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur together with the Norway Malaysia Business Council hosted a breakfast seminar with the Norwegian Bank Investment Management (NBIM) and an evening presentation on Just Faaland’s contributions to the development of Malaysia by Dr. Rais Saniman.
On January 24 the Global Head of Special Mandates at NBIM’s office in Singapore, Sigmund Kyrdalen, gave us a presentation on the “Norwegian Oil Fund” after a buffet breakfast in the Residence gardens. Kyrdalen discussed the organization and management of the fund, followed by an interesting Q&A session.
The following day, on January 25, Dr. Rais Saniman spoke about Norwegian political economist Just Faaland and his contribution to the development of Malaysia. Both presentations demonstrated Malaysia and Norway’s close links and how much we can learn from one another, writes the Norwegian embassy.
