ABB receives 2025 SwedCham Honorary Award for leadership in sustainable industry in China

Swedish-Swiss technology company ABB has been awarded the 2025 SwedCham Honorary Award by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China, recognizing its significant contributions to strengthening trade and industrial cooperation between Sweden and China.

The award was presented during the Sino-Swedish Business Insights Forum & Gala Dinner held on Friday 9 May 2025 at the Regent Hotel on the Bund in Shanghai. The event gathered over 150 business leaders and representatives to celebrate collaboration, innovation, and sustainable development.

According to the Swedish Chamber, ABB was honoured for demonstrating leadership in sustainable industrial transformation in China, integrating energy-efficient solutions, automation, and digitalization into key sectors aligned with the country’s green transition.

“ABB has shown true leadership in driving sustainable industrial transformation in China, setting a gold standard for responsible business practices and technological innovation,” says the Chamber.

ABB’s initiatives support China’s dual carbon goals and reflect the company’s holistic approach to sustainability. The firm also actively engages with local communities and educational institutions, fostering talent development in engineering and innovation.

The award was presented by Peter Ling-Vannerus, Chairman of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China, and received on behalf of ABB by Zhang Zhiqiang, Managing Director of ABB China.

ABB’s continued investment in R&D, electrification, and digital solutions underlines its long-term commitment to innovation and sustainability, as well as its role in advancing Swedish industry’s reputation in China.
