Carlsberg Malaysia appoints new managing director

Ted Akiskalos, currently managing director of Carlsberg Sweden, will replace Lars Lehmann as managing director of Carlsberg Malaysia effective May 1, 2019.

According to Carlsberg’s press release on 12 March 2019, Lars Lehmann will be appointed as Executive Vice president in Carlsberg’s executive committee for the Eastern European region and Managing Director for Carlsberg’s business in Russia, Baltika Breweries.

Lars Lehmann had been performing in various leading positions within Carlsberg’s Group since 2003 and in 2016, he had held as the managing director of Carlsberg Malaysia.

Datuk William Toh Ah Wah, Chairman of the Company said:

Lars Lehmann’s position as Carlsberg Malaysia’s managing director will be replaced by Ted Akiskalos, who had been managing director of Carlsberg Sweden since June 2016.

After joining in the group in March 2010, Ted Akiskalos has undertaken various significant positions including the vice president of group strategy for Carlsberg Group and later being placed as the managing director for Carlsberg Hong Kong in 2014.

Toh also shared that he is pleased to have Ted Akiskalos as Carlsberg Malaysia’s new Managing Director because Akiskalos has contributed excellent developments for Carlsberg Group for 9 years.

“Throughout his 9 years with the Carlsberg Group, Ted has delivered excellent results in driving growth and leading various transformational projects. Under his leadership as MD, Carlsberg Sweden returned to growth in top- and bottom-line in all categories of beer, soft drinks and water whilst Carlsberg Hong Kong became the market leader and grew profits significantly,” Toh said.
