Dane faces death penalty in Indonesia for alleged drug trafficking

A Danish man faces the death penalty in Indonesia after being arrested for attempting to smuggle 1.48 kilos of methamphetamines into the country. The Foreign Ministry confirmed that the man, 56, was arrested at the airport in Jakarta on June 8, after which he was imprisoned. den_indo_drug

“It is correct that a Danish citizen is in prison in Jakarta,” the Foreign Ministry’s citizen service told Ekstra Bladet newspaper. “The embassy is providing consular assistance and has visited the imprisoned man, who is receiving legal counsel.”
