Danish ambassador explores possibilities in Penang

The Danish Ambassador to Malaysia, Nicolai Ruge, and Deputy Joakim Larsen recently spent a full day visiting ‪Penang. Denmark wanted‬ toc consider possibilities for strengthening the bilateral relations with the economically important northern State, says the embassy’s website.

Both government relations, trade promotion and public diplomacy were on the agenda for the day that was spend together with Denmark’s Honorary Consul in Penang, Mr. Lio. A visit to the Danish medico company Ambu confirmed that Penang state has a very attractive business environment.

Ambu has a healthy and growing business, and continue to expand its 2nd largest manufacturing facility worldwide, which now has a total of 700 employees.

From meetings with Dato’ Renji of Penang Green Council, among others, it was clear that there is interest and opportunities for exploring collaboration and knowledge sharing on environmental policies and green technology in such areas as energy efficiency in public building and waste water treatment, writes the embassy.
