Danish Electro-rock band plays in Yangon

This weekend, the Danish band Dúné joins the ‘Voice of the Youth’ festival in Yangon. Besides one other international band from France, 30 local bands from Myanmar will be playing on the scene.

Dúné is a Danish Electro-rock band from Skive, Denmark based in the Danish capital Copenhagen. The band has toured extensively around the world and has won a number of music prices including three Danish Music Awards.

‘Voice of the Youth’ festival seeks to provide a platform for the youth of Myanmar to express their dreams. The festival is organized by the international NGO Turning Tables, who has gathered young people from five different areas in Myanmar. The young people will be performing songs made by the organization and have prior to the festival participated in an 11 days boot camp in Yangon.

The festival takes place June 13-14 at the Institut Français de Birmanie. Find the location here.
