Denmark will double exports to Vietnam in five years

The Danish Government will make a great effort to help Danish companies gain a foothold in the export markets, according to a statement made by the Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam.

The visions for strengthened cooperation with one of the central growth markets, Vietnam, were launched in relation to the visit of the Danish Prime Minister in Vietnam on November 8.

“Danish companies offer attractive solutions to some of the challenges that Vietnam is facing. Within energy, health and welfare as well as clean water – just to mention a few. I am sure that Danish companies can meet many of the Vietnamese demand,” said Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at the launching event.

The aim of the endeavours in Vietnam is to double commodity exports in 2016 compared to 2011, through a series of focused activities and new initiatives. If successful, Denmark will export commodities worth DKK 2 billion to Vietnam in 2016.

More than 130 Danish companies are currently represented in Vietnam.
