Denmark writes off 295 million kroners owed by Myanmar

A HANDSHAKE WORTH 295 MILLION KRONERS: DEBT RELIEF
The Minister for Development Cooperation Rasmus Helveg Petersen arrived in Myanmar on 10 January 2014. In Nay Pyi Taw he met with President U Thein Sein and Minister of Finance and Revenue U Win Shein. During the meetings the den_burma+debtminister relieved Myanmar of its 30 year old debt consisting of 295 million kroners. Today he travels to Yangon where he will be accompanied by the newly arrived HRH Crown Princess Mary on their joint trip to Rakhine State.
