Finnish Ambassador in Singapore, Paula Parviainen, presented her credentials to the President of Singapore Tony Tan last Wednesday the 23rd of September at a ceremony at the official residence of the President of Singapore.
The ceremony began with the Guard of Honour making a solemn sword greeting and an inspection tour. Next, Paula Parviainen was at the official residence reception area to sign the guest book. President Tony Tan then received an envelope with a letter in which the President of Finland, Sauli Niinistö, approved Paula Parviainen as his representative of Finland in Singapore. President Tan welcomed her to Singapore.
Among the things Paula Parviainen wrote about the ceremony on The Embassy of Finland’s website was:
“President Tan thanked the Finnish people for long-term cooperation with Singapore. He was well acquainted with educational expertise and innovation ability, and said that over the years, numerous Singaporean delegations have been exploring Finland, and particularly those aspects of society, in which Singapore still wants to learn. I told them that, among other things, we have a lot of increasing cooperation with Singapore in the field of health care and health technology, and we look forward to the Minister of Health coming to visit the companies.”
