On 20th to 24th July 2015, Professors from London’s Royal College of Music (RCM) will run the RCM’s first ever International Piano Masterclass in Asia at Shrewsbury International School, Bangkok.
The 5-day course is aimed at talented young pianists, aged 12-25 years (Grade 6 or above), who wish to take their playing to the next level. Throughout the week, students will benefit from expert guidance and tuition from RCM Professors, watch their tutors perform in concert, and take part in student recitals in Shrewsbury’s first class performance spaces. The course will conclude with a Gala Concert and the presentation of attendance certificates from the Royal College of Music.
This course is a very special opportunity for young pianists from the Asia-Pacific region to work alongside RCM’s London-based professors. “I see it as a wonderful opportunity for collaboration with the excellent music department of Shrewsbury International School who will provide us with world-class facilities. The professors will be able to work closely and intensively with the participants over a period of a week to help the students hone their pianistic and musical skills. We all look forward to working in such a splendid environment and to working with Asia’s up and coming young talents,“ says RCM tutor, Professor Vanessa Latarche.
To ensure that all students gain full benefit from the course, places are strictly limited. All applications will be considered directly by the RCM to ensure that students have the necessary abilities and skills to benefit fully from the course, and to ensure a fun, focused and positive learning experience for the whole group.
A course fee of 85,000 THB will be charged for each successful application. The deadline for applications is 15th March 2015. Early applications are strongly encouraged.
