The number of victims of human trafficking to Denmark has increased in the past several years, statistics from Center mod Menneskehandel, Socialstyrelsen shows. The majority of them were from Nigeria, Thailand and Romania.

A total of 297 people were listed as victims of human trade from 2007 to 2013. In 2008 the number was 28, while in 2012 the number rose to 66.

Ninety percent of the victims were made to work as prostitutes while the rest typically ended up working in the cleaning-businesses.
