IKEA Launches Summer Apprenticeship for Thai Students

Students from the Mechai Pattana School in Buriram had the unique opportunity to learn about business as “IKEA apprentices”.swe_th_ikeacsr

Speaking about IKEA Thailand’s inaugural young apprentice program, Supharoek Wichianchot, Deputy Business Navigator, IKEA Thailand, said “The IKEA apprentice program is a great opportunity for students to gain some experience during their school break. They got a first-hand look at our global best practices and processes in many departments including human resources, customer relations, food and beverage, and more.”

“With free participation charge, students could gain compensation to help their families and IKEA also provided free food and accommodation for the whole 3 months”

The Mechai Pattana School was founded by renowned philanthropist, Dr. Mechai Viravaidya, to help promising students from rural regions to realize their potential. IKEA Thailand is one of the corporate supporters of the school.
