Swedish-Indonesian Workshop on innovative science for a sustainable future had a variety of subjects on the programme this week.
On June 2, the University of Indonesia organized a workshop in collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden on the role of innovative science in building a sustainable future. At the workshop, speakers including Vice Minister of Finance Prof. Bambang Brodjonegoro, Rector Prof. Muhammad Anis, President of i3L Prof. Niclas Adler and General (ret.) Luhut Pandjaitan, discussed the potential for innovation becoming a real driver of Indonesia’s development – and how Swedish-Indonesian collaboration can contribute to this.
In his opening speech, chargé d’affaires a.i. Daniel Johansson spoke about the potential of collaboration on innovation and sustainability – two issues close to the heart of all Swedes. He underscored Sweden’s ambition to be part of Indonesia’s journey towards becoming a high-income country with a great innovative capacity, and that a Swedish centre at Universitas Indonesia would serve as a perfect venue for various collaborative efforts involving academia as well as business.
