Kone Malaysia appoints new managing director

KONE Malaysia has appointed Edward Loy, Managing Director of Malaysia as of 4 January 2016.

Edward Loy will succeed Lim Chong Hoe, who is retiring after 8 years of service at the finnish corporation KONE – a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry. Prior to his retirement on 31 January 2016, Lim Chong Hoe will support Edward Loy during a transition period.

Edward Loy has a wealth of international and management experience. He will join KONE from Saint-Gobain Construction Products, where he has held various senior management positions during his 11-year stint; most recently, he was the Managing Director covering Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, based in Indonesia. Prior to Saint-Gobain, Edward Loy held several senior positions with PwC and Unilever during 1991 – 2004. Edward Loy has a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics and Accounting) from The Australian National University.

In welcoming Edward Loy’s appointment, Executive Vice President of Asia Pacific and Middle East, Neeraj Sharma said: “Edward’s expertise in the financial and construction sectors will bring a new dimension and we look forward to his contributions to growth of KONE Malaysia. We are confident that Edward will consolidate and build on the progress we have made in the past years.”
