Tengku Muhammad Faiz Petra, 45-year-old Malaysian Crown Prince, will get married with Sofie Louise Johansson, 33-year-old Swedish national, on April 19.

The wedding ceremony will be held on April 19, 2019 in a closed-door ceremony on a “moderate scale” where 300 guests including the Kelantan royalty and close friends of the Crown Prince will attend, the Kelantan state palace announced on Saturday, April 6.

According to Swedish newspaper Expressen, Tengku Muhammad Faiz and Johansson have known each other for a long time since they first met in England where he was a student studying history and she worked as an au pair.

Dr. Tengku Mohamed Faziharudean Tengku Feissal, Kelantan Palace ceremonial chief, told “His Highness seeks the prayers of the people that his marriage will go smoothly and receive the blessings of Allah until Jannah (paradise)

“His Hignesss has also ordered that gifts in conjunction with the wedding be channeled to welfare bodies in Kelantan like Yayasan Orang Kurang Upaya (YOKUK), orphanages and old folks homes as well as the Malaysian Red Crescent Society.”

Tengku Muhammad Faiz is the younger brother of Sultan Muhammad Malaysia’s former King, who recently abdicated the throne and shocked the whole country in January 2019.

The rumor of the former King’s abdication was reported by foreign media reports stating he had married a Russian beauty queen though it has not been officially confirmed or addressed.
