Norway launched new passports on 18 October 2020. The new version of the passport has several security elements and a new design.

All existing passports remain valid until their expiry date, and there is no need to apply for a new passport before the old one expires.
From 19 October, it is more expensive to apply for a passport abroad than in Norway. For more information please read here
