The Philippine Honorary Consulate General in Helsinki opened on Monday 16 September 2013 to the public and now provides consular services to the Filipino community and the Finnish public.
The consular services to be provided by the Honorary Consulate General in Helsinki will include the processing and issuance of Philippine tourist visas, the authentication of Philippine legal documents and Finnish documents to be used in the Philippines, notarization of affidavits and other legal documents and the processing of Reports of Births and Marriages for Filipinos abroad.
Apart from these consular services, the Honorary Consulate General will also undertake and support activities aimed at promoting greater economic, cultural and people-to-people cooperation between the Philippines and Finland.
The Honorary Consulate General in Helsinki is headed by Philippine Honorary Consul General Jukka A. Nyrölä and Philippine Honorary Consul Teresita Z. Ruutu.
The Honorary Consulate General was earlier officially inaugurated on 17 July 2013 during a simple ceremony attended by Philippine Ambassador to Finland Bayani S. Mercado residing at the Embassy in Oslo, Norway, and the leaders of the Filipino community in Finland.
The Philippine Honorary Consulate General is located in the heart of Helsinki at Tarkk’ampujankatu 2 A 6, 00140 Helsinki (just behind the last stop of the No. 10 tram). The office is on the 2nd floor, left side, with name “Nyrölä” on the door.
