The renowned Finnish contemporary dance groups Susanna Leinonen Company has been invited to the distinguished Beijing Dance Festival on 26 July 2013.
The company is performing Leinonen’s work Blinded Mind, which combines film and dance in a very imaginative way. After its premiere in 2011 it has been well received by the audience and press. Last year, Blinded Mind had a tour in Spain, Malaysia and Indonesia. In April 2013 Blinded Mind returned from a successful tour in Sweden.
Susanna Leinonen is one of the most internationally acclaimed Finnish choreographers. With her unique and articulate choreographic style, Leinonen combines classical know‐how with contemporary movement thinking. Her works produce graphic and surrealistic visions, creating a total and uncompromising dance experience. Leinonen collaborates with composers and top visual designers to create original and breathtaking performances.
Susanna Leinonen Company is financially supported by Ministry of Education and Culture and has been appointed as one of the Key Projects in Finnish Cultural Export. Her works have toured in 21 countries around the world. She has also created commissioned works for major dance companies e.g. Royal Swedish Ballet and the Finnish National Ballet. Her latest creation “Breaking the Fury” was premiered in October 2012 in Malmö Opera, Sweden.
