Thai Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung has disclosed on Thursday he has been contacted by a man who claimed to be one of the leaders of Thailand’s far-south insurgency. The unidentified man told Chalerm he was interested to have a peace talk.
The Deputy PM said he has ordered the authority to verify the information, and if the claims are true, he is willing to negotiate with him in Sweden.
On Dec 11, Chalerm was appointed director of the operations centre for implementation of policies and strategies for solving problems in southern border provinces.
