Swede wins LPGA tournament in Pattaya

26-year old Anna Nordqvist was yesterday victorious at the Siam County Club Pattaya Old Course in the Honda LPGA, firing a 68 in the final round and claiming the prize of USD 1.5 million.

Anna Nordqvist enjoyed a four-shot advantage at the beginning of the final round, but a double bogey on the par-4 fifth hole breath excitement into the tournament again. Being head to head with the defending champion Inbee Park, Nordqvist bounced back to shoot seven birdies and fight off the competition.

With the victory Anna Nordqvist put an end to a long winning drought, having her last international crown being in 2011 where she won the European Ladies Gold Cup.
The Swede was very emotional after the victory.

“I’m speechless to be honest. It’s been a couple of years since I won. I’m happy to be back in the winning circle,” said Anna Nordqvist before thanking her coach and family for their belief and support.
