In celebration of the Swedish-Thai friendship and the trade agreement dating back to 1868 some 100 hundred Swedes and Thais showed up for the 5-kilometre run at the at The Royal Djurgården/Gärdet in Sweden’s capital.
ScandAsia’s photographer reported that the classic Thai dish ‘Pad Tai’ was served and every participant was awarded with a medal, a t-shirt and a sports bag.
After a 15-minute delay the race started with a blue sky as backdrop and a mild temperature. The atmosphere was relaxed and some children also participated.
”It was good, relaxed and a fun way to highlight the bilateral trade anniversary,” commented Sweden’s Ambassador.
“We had perfect weather conditions at the Swedish Thai Run today, celebrating 150 years of friendship. And it was just wonderful to do these 5 km in one of the most beautiful parts of Stockholm, Djurgården. Many thanks to the organizers,” Staffan Herrström furthermore wrote on his Facebook page.
