On April 27, 2019, Niclas Kvarnström, Ambassador of Sweden to Singapore took a part as one of the judges for CDL E-Generation Challenge 2019, an anual environmental competitions for Singaporean youths.
During the judging ceremony, top ten finalists were given the opportunity to present thier projects to the judges. Then, the judges selected two winners who will participate in the Arctic on the 12-days environmental conservation expedition “ClimateForce: Arctic 2019” in Norway.
Led by Robert Swan and his 22-year-old son Barney, the 12-days expedition aims to inspire and build an awareness to organizations and communities about protecting the world and creating a more sustainable and clean energy for the future.
According to Embassy of Sweden in Singapore, the winners will be announced on May 21 at the CDL Green Gallery SG 200 Photo Exhibition.
Prior to the final judging ceremony, CDL E-Generation Challenge 2019 was innitially launched by Björn Lyrvall, Sweden’s Ambassador for Arctic affairs and Katarina Gårdfeldt, Director General for the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat in November 2018 at the Arctic Seminar.
