Swedish Ambassador visits Vice president of Philippines

Harald Fries, Sweden’s Ambassador to Philippines, paid a courtesy visit to Leni Robredo, Vice president on Thursday, 24 January 2019.

To strengthen the cooperation between Sweden and Philippines, the Ambassador and Vice president discussed concerning topics especially in the field of gender equality and women’s economic empowerment in Philippines.

According to Embassy of Sweden in Manila, “the Office of the Vice President and the Embassy of Sweden has worked together, in partnership with SPARK Philippines, to launch the RespetoNaman campaign against gender-based violence in commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women last year.”

Leni Robredo expresses her pleasure of this visit through her Facebook, “Happy to meet Ambassador Harald Fries of Sweden again, as he visited our office yesterday. Ambassador Fries and the Embassy of Sweden in the Philippines have been a reliable ally in our fight for women empowerment.”

“Our offices recently partnered with Spark! Philippines for #RespetoNaman, a campaign against gender-based violence. I look forward to more opportunities to work with them in uplifting the lives of Filipinos.” she adds.
