Swedish Justice Minister met Thai MPs in Bangkok

Swedish Justice Minister Beatrice Ask recently visited Bangkok. During her visit (February 23-27) Ms Ask met Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung, Justice Minister Pracha Promnok and Attorney-General Chulasingh Vasantasingh.

One important topic of discussion during the meetings was a law enforcement agreement between Sweden and Thailand. The agreement, which aims at strengthening the cooperation between Swedish and Thai police and customs agencies, will be signed next week during the visit to Sweden by H.E. Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

During her visit to Bangkok Ms Ask also met representatives of Thailand Office of Narcotics Control Board, the Department of Special Investigation and the Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission as well as representative of the UN in Bangkok (UNODC and UNIAP). Ms Ask also visited Klong Prem prison and Lumpini Park police station.
