Thai police are searching for a woman seen on security footage entering the condominium of a Swedish man found dead in South Pattaya on Thursday 17 July 2025.
The man, identified as 38-year-old Mika Huotari from Sweden, was discovered with severe head wounds in the bathroom of his fifth-floor unit in an 8-storey condominium on Moo 10, Nong Prue, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. He was found lying naked on the floor next to an overflowing bathtub filled with blood-stained water.
Police said there were no signs of forced entry or struggle. Forensic officers have sealed off the area for investigation.
The condominium’s manager, 27-year-old Ms Thanchanok, told police that the Swedish man had lived alone since May and was due to move out on Friday 18 July. When she checked on the room Thursday afternoon to prepare for cleaning, she received no response. The door was locked, but she noticed the air conditioning running and water flooding the hallway. Upon entering, she discovered the body and called authorities.
Investigators are now focused on CCTV footage showing a short-haired woman dressed in black entering the unit the night before the body was discovered. She remained inside for about 20 minutes and was later seen leaving with a bag. Police have not yet identified the woman, but consider her a person of interest.
According to the manager, the Swedish man frequently brought different women to his apartment during his stay.
Lieutenant Colonel Saijai Kamjulla of Pattaya City Police Station is leading the investigation in cooperation with other relevant authorities. Police have not confirmed whether the death is being treated as a homicide but say foul play has not been ruled out.
The investigation is ongoing.
