Although the Chinese economy is growing slower than before, Swedish technology companies continue to recruit more people in China.
“Our assessment is that the Swedish technology companies in China will soon have more employees there than they have in Sweden, says Anders Rune, chief economist at Teknikföretagen, an employers’ organization for engineering companies.
Only about 15 percent of employees in the Swedish technology companies are working Sweden, 85 percent of employees are abroad. The number of employees in China has increased rapidly.
Industrial group Atlas Copco for example has gone from 850 employees in China ten years ago to over 6,300 today, largely because of the acquisitions. In Sweden, Atlas Copco has 4,700 employees.
