Swedish tourist injured in Pattaya traffic accident

Two foreign men were injured in a motorcycle accident on Pattaya Beach Road, with city authorities and the Sawang Boriboon Foundation providing first aid.

A Swedish tourist was among two foreign men injured after being struck by a motorcycle on Pattaya Beach Road on 23 August. The accident happened when a motorcycle collided with the pedestrians, who both required immediate medical attention. Pattaya municipal officials, together with the Sawang Boriboon Foundation, provided first aid at the scene before the victims were transported to Bhattamakun Hospital.

The incident has sparked renewed concern over traffic safety along Pattaya’s busy beach road. Residents and visitors highlighted the risks posed by speeding vehicles, motorists ignoring traffic signals, and motorcycles driving on sidewalks. Damaged road surfaces were also cited as adding to the danger for pedestrians.

On social media, commenters compared the situation with international standards, stressing that stricter enforcement of traffic laws and improved pedestrian infrastructure are needed. Calls were also made for measures such as speed cameras and stronger driver accountability to prevent further accidents.

Authorities reminded the public to remain cautious on Pattaya’s streets, particularly in areas with heavy pedestrian traffic.
