Chargé d’Affaires at the Danish Embassy in Bangkok, Anders L. Graugaard, welcomed Claus Rasmussen and his family at the Embassy on 3 October 2018.

Claus Rasmussen is one of two Danish cave divers who was part of the international rescue team that helped saving 12 young football players and their coach out from a flooded cave in June and July. The football team was trapped for 17 days in the Tham Luang Nang Non cave in Chiang Rai Province.

According to the Embassy, Claus Rasmussen is determined to use his experience from the rescue operation in Chiang Rai to educate others on the procedures of such operations.

Claus Rasmussen has earlier told ScandAsia about the cave rescue. You can read his story in the September 2018 edition of ScandAsia’s magazine or here.
