With a possible TikTok ban in the U.S., users are flocking to the Chinese app RedNote, known locally as Xiaohongshu. Over 700,000 new users joined in two days, pushing the app to the top of U.S. download charts.

In Denmark, RedNote has also taken the top spot in the App Store, reports Danish media outlet B.T.

RedNote, often called China’s Instagram, is popular for sharing fashion, food, and travel content. Originally focused on 300 million Chinese users, the app is now adjusting to its sudden international fame, adding translation tools to connect users worldwide.

The app has surged to the top of download charts in the U.S., with a 200% increase in downloads compared to last year.
