Vietnam and Norway are looking to deepen parliamentary, economic and trade cooperation as the two countries mark 55 years of diplomatic relations.
The issue was discussed during an official visit to Norway by a delegation from Vietnam’s National Assembly led by Vice President Nguyễn Doãn Anh from September 25 to 27.
During talks with First Vice President of the Norwegian Parliament Morten Stordalen, the Vietnamese side proposed more regular exchanges and high-level contacts between the two legislatures, as well as greater cooperation between specialised committees.
The two sides also agreed to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation and to strengthen the role of their legislatures in supporting existing bilateral agreements.
During the visit, the Vietnamese delegation also held meetings with Norwegian organisations including DNV and TOMRA and met representatives of the Vietnamese community in Norway.
